In researching another story, we spoke with several retailers about what accent categories have been the most impacted by . Nancy Mikulich, an interior designer and owner of Oasis Home in Asbury Park, N.J., said she has seen an uptick in lamp prices.

“But the counterweight to that,” she said, “is that a lot of companies are coming out with beautiful, functional, chargeable lamps. The average buyer is not as well-versed in that category. When they see a cool funky lamp, when you tell them it’s rechargeable and you can put it anywhere in your house, they don’t care how much it costs. It’s a novelty.”
