MONTREAL — Mellem Manoir-des-Trembles, a new LEED-certified rental condo project by Maître Carré in Gatineau’s Manoir-des-Trembles neighbourhood, is setting a new benchmark for sustainable rental living in the National Capital Region.
According to a release, the project exceeds national energy code standards by 25 to 30 per cent.
Developed in partnership with Pomerleau, key LEED certification elements include:
- Strategic site selection to reduce environmental impact
- Proximity to transportation options
- Construction on a previously developed site
- Efficient management of water, energy, materials and resources
- Enhanced indoor environmental quality
Architectural features such as oversized windows and high ceilings maximize natural light while reducing energy use, the release adds. A green and white roof also helps mitigate urban heat islands.
The rental condos range from studios to five-and-a-half residences. Amenities include communal spaces, a fitness centre, a dedicated co-working area, a common kitchen and a foyer with a fireplace.
The condo is now leasing units.
