VAUGHAN — The Ontario government has announced $10-million in funding for the construction of a new 15-acre Family Recreation Area at North Maple Regional Park, as part of a major transformation of the park into a year-round destination for sports, recreation and culture.
The government’s investment will support the construction of the Family Recreation Area, which will feature a four-season nature playground, water play areas, a skate trail, picnic pavilion, recreational trail and a new parking lot. Once complete, North Maple Regional Park will extend over 900 acres and will serve as a signature regional hub — offering inclusive and accessible recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
“I am thrilled we will be opening our new Family Recreation Area at North Maple Regional Park next year for families and visitors to enjoy for years to come,” said Steven Del Duca, Mayor of Vaughan. “The new area is a significant project in the City of Vaughan’s vision to transform the 900-acre park into a signature destination for sports, recreation and culture — and this funding from the Province of Ontario is helping to bring that vision to life. I want to thank the province for their continued support and investment in Vaughan.”
