NEW YORK – Zafferano launched “Skyline” in New York last month, an exclusive collection of graphic shades for its iconic Poldina Pro and Poldina Mini cordless lamps.
Designed by New York City-based designer Kickie Chudikova, the collection pays homage to the architecture and energy of the New York City skyline, with a special nod to the Art Deco grandeur of the Chrysler Building.
“The “Skyline” collection marks a new chapter for the versatile Poldina lamps, bringing an element of sophisticated, urban artistry to their celebrated portability,” the company said. Chudikova, who was recently the face of Zafferano’s 2024 Joyful Living branding campaign, translated the city’s geometric complexity and luminous spirit into two distinctive patterns to adorn metal lampshades.
“Skyline” offers two unique patterns available in three colors (Sunflower, Steel Blue and Black/White) that fit both the full-sized Poldina Pro and the compact Poldina Mini.
“The ‘Skyline’ shades are a brilliant fusion of New York’s iconic visual language and Italian design excellence,” said Barrett Gross, CEO of Zafferano America. “These shades offer our customers a new way to interact with their favorite cordless lamps.”
“The Chrysler Building and the New York skyline represent a timeless marriage of structure and aspiration,” Chudikova said. “It was a joy to translate that powerful aesthetic onto the Poldina, a lamp known for bringing beautiful, functional light everywhere. The graphic shades catch the light in a way that truly evokes the city’s vibrant energy.”
The “Skyline” collection can be purchased on Zafferano’s website.
