Heading into 2026, family flooring company Couristan begins its 100th anniversary celebration, including a kickoff event from 3-6 p.m., Jan. 27, 2026, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, space 2923, during the upcoming Las Vegas Market.

Founded in 1926 by brothers Basil J., Aleer J. and George J. Couri, Couristan began as a small importer of fine handmade Persian area rugs. Originally named Couri Brothers, the company later became Couristan, a fusion of the family surname and the suffix “-stan,” referencing the historical and cultural influences of Persian civilization and surrounding countries.
“Our founders believed every area rug should tell a story. A hundred years later, we’re still telling those stories—only now, they’re woven for a global stage,” said George G. Couri, Couristan’s company owner and chairman for the past 37 years.
“Our residential business has never been stronger,” said Len Andolino, current company president. “We’re seeing renewed enthusiasm for rugs that reflect a designer’s personal touch. It’s where our legacy of quality meets today’s culture of customization.”
Today, Couristan offers both machine-made and digitally printed collections crafted from wool, cotton and premium synthetic blends.

“At Couristan, tradition and technology don’t compete – they complement,” said Andolino. “By maintaining a diversified product mix across both machine-made and handmade rugs we can serve our customers with the flexibility that today’s market demands.”
This year, the company introduced several new handmade collections which span Couristan’s roots from approachable hand-tufted styles to hand-woven and hand-knotted designs.
As the company enters its centennial year, it is embracing its roots in handmade while remaining at the forefront of design and innovation, according to both Couri and Andolino.
“A hundred years is a milestone, but for us, it’s also a beginning,” said Couri. “We’re still as curious and committed as our founders were, only now, we’re weaving that spirit into a new era of design.”

According to Portuguese company Rug’Society, this festive season invites a richer atmosphere, rooms that feel intentional, expressive and ready to host the moments that define the end of the year.
The new Bold Rug’Society collection gathers pieces woven with presence: bold motifs, sculptural textures and detailing.

The new Botanical Rug from Rug’Society also “transforms space into an experience, turning every corner into a dialogue of nature, texture and form” according to the company.
Rug’Society designers say the Black Ink rug’s vibrant elegance captures the rhythm of refined living and balances artistic expression with spatial harmony, reflecting the essence of contemporary interiors — organic, expressive, and deeply considered.

Ege Carpets has launched its second collection of New Aspects carpets, called the Highline Express Classic collection.
“To make sure that the concept stays relevant and stimulating at any given time, New Aspects transfers the newest interior design trends to your carpet. Aiming to combine our agile design approach with global interior trends, New Aspects will drop once or twice a year with our wish to always inspire,” said a company spokesperson.

The new pieces, called Neo Nostalgia, are a tribute to timeless craftsmanship, according to the company, reimagined for a new era. Rooted in vintage French textiles, patterns from historical archives and the beauty of the handmade, the design concept transforms familiarity into something unexpected and bold.
The company has introduced three new designs – Florentine, Amande and Broderie in two color stories – into the Highline Express Classic collection. Each design reinterprets classic motifs with playful scale, layered texture and confident use of color. The oversized, exaggerated paisley patterns, Florentine and Amande, with soft shapes and silhouettes are overlaid with Broderie, a handcrafted cross-stitch design which pays homage to traditional French embroidery.
Combining these delicate patterns with modern classics from the Essentials and Graphic collections brings uninhibited and unexpected explorations of color and pattern, which fully embodies how traditional and contemporary design come together in present day creating a true sensory, personal and atmospheric experience.

Following the successful edition of Cover Connect New York in September, Cover Connect Las Vegas will take place Jan. 27-29 during the International Surface Event held at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The fourth edition of this Las Vegas Market will bring together a select group of brands to showcase traditional, transitional and contemporary rugs, including broadloom and designer pieces, as well as one-of-a-kind and antique rugs.
Plus, this year, the dates coincide with Las Vegas Market. Confirmed exhibitors include Cella Carpet, Design Materials Inc., Eliko Rug Gallery, French Accents, Momeni, Olker Rugs, Pampas Leather, Parviz Oriental Rugs, Samad Rugs, Tamarian, Turquoise Mountain and Wool & Silk.
Several exhibitors shared a preview of their Cover Connect exhibits.
“We are adding new colorways for two of our bestsellers, Smoke and Selian,” said Georgia Pahl, from Wool & Silk. “The finer nature of our weave allows for more detail in design which lends itself to the more traditional elements of carpet design.”
“When knotted in the Tibetan quality, our traditional designs translate into something fresh and new while honoring the classic design elements of great carpets of the past,” said Ned Baker from Tamarian.
“Eliko Rug Gallery is proud to present an exceptional collection of antique rugs and custom samples. Our display will feature timeless masterpieces, including Antique Heriz, Serapi, Mahal, Malayer, and Oushak rugs, each handwoven with rich history, character and artistry,” said Solomon Bassalely, Eliko Rug Gallery.
“Momeni will feature a curated selection of one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rugs, ranging from unique contemporary pieces to reimagined vintage looks,” said Kian Momeni from Momeni Rug. “Rounding it out will be a selection of trendsetting area rug collections in hand-tufted, hand-woven, and handloomed constructions—all available in made-to-order custom sizes.”
