HIGH POINT — Science in Design will host a full-day symposium at High Point Market in October.

Officials from the educational and marketing platform focused on the health-enhancing power of has announced that “When Design Heals: How Interior Design Shapes Health,” will take place on Oct. 24.

Supported by High Point by Design, the day-long event will bring together top experts, academics and scholars in , biophilia and design science to explore the impact of interior environments on human health and well-being. Seminars will feature topics including the health benefits of fractal patterning, the role of in enhancing beauty and mood, and how nature-inspired design fosters both aesthetic appeal and healing.

In addition to scientific insights, the symposium will also offer business-focused sessions tailored for designers. Officials said that attendees will learn how to effectively integrate science into branding, websites and client communications, bridging the gap between research and real-world design practice.

Neuroaesthetics, the study of how beauty affects the brain, and , underscoring a human’s innate connection to nature, continue to gain validation from the scientific community, said representatives. Consequently, interior design is being embraced as an “alternative health resource.”
