MONTREAL — Real estate development company Harden, in partnership with Crombie, recently celebrated the official groundbreaking of Faubourg Contrecœur, a new commercial development in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Que.
With a land area of 240,000 square feet, Faubourg Contrecoeur will feature more than 52,000 square feet of gross leasable area (GLA). The project will include green spaces, bicycle paths and EV chargers, buildings with solar powered roofs and more than 170 parking spaces, states a release.
Faubourg Contrecœur is located at 3553 rue de Contrecœur at the intersection of rue Sherbrooke Est and rue de Contrecœur.
“This project represents an investment of over $30 million for the east end of Montreal and begins with the highly anticipated construction of an IGA extra supermarket, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2026,” the release reads. “This new IGA extra will occupy 40,000 square feet of GLA, making it the anchor tenant at Faubourg Contrecœur.”
Two pads of approximately 10,000 square feet and 3,000 square feet remain available.
