HIGH POINT — Interior designers and retail partners of JP Home Furnishings have a unique opportunity to channel their creativity for an upcoming competition that will debut at the spring High Point Market.
For the inaugural Go Wild: Fabric Face-Off competition, designers and retail partners are invited to curate a “standout fabric story” for a chance to be featured as a fully realized vignette at High Point Market. The winning design will be unveiled at a cocktail party at 4:30 p.m. on April 24.
Officials said that participants are challenged to “go wild” by selecting and merchandising three to four fabrics that “shine together:” demonstrating creativity, cohesion, and market-ready style while also reflecting a “strong, well-edited point of view.” Three top merchandisers — who are not current JP Home customers — will review submissions and select one winning fabric story. The winning design will be showcased as a fully realized vignette at JP Home’s 215 S Main St. second level showroom during the market, remaining concealed until the official unveiling at the Go Wild: Fabric Face-Off Cocktail Party on Friday evening.

The competition kicks off on March 6 with a submission deadline of March 24. To enter, participants should email the following information to [email protected]:
- Name and company
- Website and/or social media handles (if applicable)
- Names of 3-4 chosen fabrics
- Inspiration image to accompany fabric selections (does not need to include the fabrics you chose — intended to showcase the style / direction of selections)
Founded in December 2020, by three women partners, JP Home Furnishings‘ vision was to create an upholstery brand that checked off all the boxes while also being solely run, designed and led, by women. In 2023, one of the brands founders, Carla Mata, bought out her partners and merged JP Home Furnishings under the Whitewood Inds. umbrella of brands, which include Custom Contract Furnishings, John Thomas Furniture, Whitewood Ready-to-Finish and International Concepts. Mata continues to run manufacturing of both the residential and contract upholstery divisions, as well as manage product development and merchandising.
