The appointment marks the continuation of a long-standing relationship of more than two decades between Kier and South West Water and supports the delivery of front-line network activity.

This work includes reactive and planned maintenance across the network, as well as the continued rollout of smart metering, helping customers better understand how water is used day to day.

In the last year, Kier completed more than 25,000 repair and maintenance jobs across the region, including over 18,000 leak repairs, alongside more than 32,000 metering optant and maintenance jobs. Performance on urgent reactive work remained consistent, with over 97% of priority jobs responded to within the two-hour target, at an average response time of around one hour during peak periods.

As part of the extension, Kier will continue to deliver repair and maintenance, leakage activity, network reliability schemes, metering and developer services. The agreement also supports local supply chains and skills development across the region.

This extension builds on Kier’s continued role across AMP8, including appointments and reappointments with Anglian Water, Severn Trent, South West Water, Southern Water, Thames Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water.
