LAS VEGAS – has long supported children who have been victims of sexual abuse, trafficking and exploitation. It’s , a sweet, bird-shaped bedside lamp, is emblematic of that ongoing support.

The Hope Lamp was originally conceived through a collaboration between Julie Whitehead, a survivor of child sexual abuse, domestic abuse and human sex trafficking, the and . More than a decorative lighting fixture, the lamp was created as a symbol of resilience, comfort and hope for survivors.

The companies researched different ways light levels impact survivors of sexual trauma, said , president of Malouf and co-founder of the Malouf Foundation, in a promotional video for the lamp. The Malouf Foundation exists to confront child exploitation through education, survivor care, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.

In the same video, Carly Hirschi, creative director of Ciana, the parent company of Varaluz, said they identified some key criteria for the lamp: it needed to illuminate gently, allow a way for it to be illuminated through a gentle touch, and it had to be a quality piece that would last. Through its philanthropic initiative, for every Hope Lamp purchased, Varaluz will donate another lamp to a shelter or organization serving children on their journey toward healing.

“The Hope Lamp embodies everything we believe design can be,” said Varaluz founder and design lead . “It is beautiful, purposeful and deeply meaningful. We are honored to be a part of this initiative to help bring comfort and hope to children who need it most. Every lamp purchased extends that mission and helps create spaces where healing can begin.”

To raise additional awareness, Varaluz has been giving away one Hope Lamp each day during Lightovation this week.

Attendees can enter to win a lamp by visiting the Varaluz showroom (DTM 4507), taking a photo of their favorite Varaluz product, posting it to Instagram and tagging it @Varaluz and using the hashtags #Hope2Win and #VaraluzHope.

The lamp has also become closely aligned with Rooms Restored, a signature initiative of the Malouf Foundation that transforms bedrooms and healing spaces for child survivors of abuse and exploitation. “It’s our hope that these lamps find their way into homes everywhere — not just as beautiful pieces, but as reminders,” said Sam Malouf. “Reminders that survivors are not forgotten. Reminders that healing is possible. Reminders that the light never goes out.”
