HIGH POINT – Visual Comfort & Co. stepped into a new category at High Point Market, introducing its Lutron motorized Roman shade collection, made possible through its acquisition last year of System 7, a Boston-based residential integration system provider.
The initiative is an effort to offer more integrated lighting, shading and control solutions, said the company, which created its Visual Comfort Systems division last year. Shown at April’s High Point Market, the program includes a semi-custom Roman shade program, with 68 fabrics to choose from, including linen, fleece, wool and silk, in flat or cascade styles, and the ability to layer in blackout or solar shades. Products will ship out in four weeks, the company said.
Motorized drapery will be added to the collection in the future.
The program is available in six of its showrooms – New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas – with plans to broaden it to other showrooms in the future.
