TORONTO – Global commercial real estate adviser Avison Young has announced that Neil Lacheur, principal and executive vice-president, real estate management services, has been awarded the inaugural Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership from BOMA International.
Awarded at the 2025 BOMA International TOBY awards, the award honours the association’s recently retired president and chief operating officer, who held his role for 39 years, states a release.
The award is presented to someone who demonstrates outstanding contributions to the commercial real estate industry.

“I am positively thrilled for Neil; this is a well-deserved honour for a visionary, inclusive leader who is deeply committed to his profession – and also one of the humblest of leaders with whom I have the pleasure to work,” said Mark Fieder, president of Avison Young, Canada, in a statement. “Neil brings a clear vision and strong sense of direction and purpose in all that he does, always intentional in seeking growth opportunities for others.”
With more than 20 years of real estate management experience, Lacheur oversees the firm’s real estate management services portfolio, leading a team that is responsible for delivering integrated management and reporting services.
Collectively, the team manages more than 22 million square feet of retail and industrial space across Canada, the release adds.
“I am sincerely honoured to win the first-ever Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership as it speaks to everything I hold near and dear: my passion for building strong real estate communities as well as my passion for empowering the people in those communities,” said Lacheur. “I will strive every day to reflect this award in my actions and decisions, as I continue to focus on strengthening the partnership between BOMA International and BOMA Canada.”
Lacheur is also the chair of BOMA Canada, a federation comprised of more than 3,100 members in the commercial real estate industry.
