OSHAWA, ONT. – Lakeshore East GO expansion work is officially rolling along.

Beginning as early as Aug. 18, Delsan AIM Environmental Services will begin demolition and removal at the following properties on Simcoe Street in Oshawa:

  • All Canadian Awards, 424 Simcoe St S.
  • Pets Kingdom, 426 Simcoe St S.
  • two-storey multiplex, 428 Simcoe St S.

The work is slated to take place until Dec. 24 and residents should expect some noise and vibration due to construction activities. Site lighting maybe utilized if necessary and will be pointed away from homes, a release reads.

There are no anticipated road closures.

The Bowmanville Extension will extend Lakeshore East GO rail service nearly 20 kilometres east of the Durham College Oshawa GO Station to Bowmanville.

The planned routing passes through the existing Durham College Oshawa GO Station and uses a C.P.K.C.-owned General Motors spur line to cross Highway 401 to connect to the C.P.K.C. mainline. The routing makes an eventual connection through C.P.K.C.’s Belleville Subdivision to Bowmanville.

Four new stations, two in Oshawa, will be included in the project.
