Cross-disciplinary designer Dana Harel, whose San Francisco design studio is called White Dirt, will unveil a new, textile-inspired illuminated sculpture at Collectible New York this fall. The sculptures, collectively called Quilt, were inspired by childhood blanket-fortresses, “spaces where light feels secretive and protective,” the designer said in a release. Alongside Quilt, White Dirt is introducing new families of work: Soft Lights, a new textile lighting series translating quilts into sculptural illumination, and Paper Wall Lights, a trio of plug-in wall lights made of illuminated paper that has been folded and rolled into various shapes.
