Aggreko has joined the ranks of tier one suppliers for Sizewell C, supplying a low-emission, low-noise multi-megawatt power package for the construction phase.
This includes Stage V generators incorporating battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies, with Aggreko Remote Monitoring (ARM) transmitting operating data.
Asset management and data-driven reporting will also be available via Aggreko Connect, throughout the project’s lifetime
“Aggreko’s selection as the primary power provider for Sizewell C highlights our deep expertise and proven track record in large-scale infrastructure projects,” said managing director Alan Dunne. “We are excited to support this initiative with our Greener Upgrades technologies — including Stage V generators, BESS, and the use of Aggreko-supplied hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel — all aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing sustainability.”
Sizewell C strategic sourcing lead Claudia Elliott said: “Aggreko demonstrated a great understanding of our project requirements, scoring high across key criteria such as execution, contracts and social value. They have aligned themselves well to the strategic commitments of Sizewell C – including the reduction in GHG emissions and contributing to local spend within the Suffolk region.”
