NEW YORK — The New York chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC-NY) recently presented a panel discussion on the future outlook for the New York market.
The panel examined key areas shaping the city’s future and made several observations:
- Affordable housing: It’s crucial to address the growing demand and ensure equitable access.
- Data centers: Infrastructure plays a key role and must evolve to support technological advancements.
- Manufacturing and industrial growth: Balancing urban development with industrial needs is an ongoing challenge.
- Semiconductors: It’s important to understand their critical impact on the economy and innovation.
The panellists included: Katie Birchenough, senior assistant general counsel, global operations with Micron Technology; Alison Landry, VP, NYC strategy lead with Jacobs; Carl Oliveri, partner and construction practice leader with Grassi Advisors & Accountants; and Sheila Pozon, a partner with Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (US) LLP.
“This insightful session explored the evolving landscape of New York’s development sectors,” said PWC NY board president Schillivia Baptiste in a statement.

PWC is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to support and connect women within the architecture, engineering, construction and related fields via member resources as well as mentorship, leadership and networking opportunities.
