Planning approval for the design and build project was granted last year, and work will start soon. Alongside the cinema, and scheme includes space for two restaurants and a family-orientated ‘competitive socialising’ space: somewhere combining food and drink with indoor games. The goal is to increase footfall and dwell time in the town centre, and extend its use into the evening and weekend.
Awarded through the Procure Partnerships Framework, the project is being developed by Advance Northumberland and is being funded by the UK Government’s Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Northumberland County Council, and Advance Northumberland.
