Mole systems are designed to push through the earth, piercing and displacing soil to make space for jobs like pipe installation. The Grundomat 45 Extra Short is designed for applications where space for entry and exit pits is limited.
It measures just 800mm long, reducing digging needed when preparing for pipe installation and cutting remediation and reinstatement costs. It weighs 8kg, making handling easier, but still delivers 580 impacts a minute. It is available in high-strength steel or hardened alloy steel.
The first delivery of 40 units is now in stock at Tracto UK’s Bedford HQ, and are already proving very popular with groundworkers, contactors and utility installers, the company says.
