TORONTO — Hazelview’s purpose-built rental community Station House at the intersection of Bloor and Dufferin in Toronto has achieved Rainbow Registered accreditation, a national designation from Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce.
It recognizes organizations committed to creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, a release reads.
Opened earlier this year, Station House will bring more than 1,100 new rental homes to Toronto’s west end as part of a mixed-use redevelopment.
“The accreditation reflects Hazelview’s ongoing commitment to creating communities where residents, employees, and visitors feel safe, respected, and proud to belong,” the release notes. “It also marks another milestone in the organization’s broader belonging strategy, which focuses on embedding inclusion into policies, training, leadership practices and the resident experience.”
Station House Toronto is Hazelview’s ninth residential rental community to achieve Rainbow Registered accreditation and its 11th overall.
The accreditation is awarded following an independent assessment of an organization’s policies, training, leadership commitment and organizational culture. Station House Toronto received the accreditation in recognition of Hazelview’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusive communities through comprehensive employee training, inclusive policies and procedures, leadership accountability and engagement with residents, community organizations and local stakeholders.
