SCARBOROUGH — Construction has started on Scarborough Health Network’s new emergency department at Centenary Hospital.

Supported by a provincial government investment of more than $82 million, the new department will be more than 36,000 square feet larger than the hospital’s existing emergency department and will support 400 jobs, including more than 300 jobs in construction.

Ontario has also invested nearly $15 million to add 27 new hemodialysis stations at Scarborough Health Network, including 21 at Centenary Hospital.
