Howard Elliott President Brian Berk is WizCommerce’s latest podcast guest, discussing his product development process, how he regularly culls the assortment, and the difference between what sells online and what sells in a showroom. The conversation also gets into the mistakes Berk has watched others make, according to a release about the podcast. He describes how buying into large minimum quantities has put companies out of business, why chasing the Pantone color of the year without a broader strategy can bury a brand, and how he has watched companies go bankrupt pursuing design perfection at the expense of everything else.
“Brian doesn’t run on instinct — he runs on systems,” said Div Makkar, co-founder & CEO of WizCommerce. “He’s built a process where every product has to earn its place. That discipline over 25 years is what makes Howard Elliott what it is.”
