BURLINGTON, ONT. — Invest Ontario is welcoming news of a $15 million investment from SEKISUI Canada Modular Solutions Inc. (SCMS) to establish its Canadian manufacturing and operations hub in Burlington.
According to a release, the facility will bring advanced modular construction technology to Ontario.
A subsidiary of Japan-based SEKISUI Chemical Co., Ltd., SCMS delivers steel-frame modular building systems for a range of sectors, including low- and mid-rise residential developments, schools and educational facilities, institutional buildings and commercial projects.
Burlington was selected for the company’s Canadian hub because of Ontario’s skilled workforce, strong transportation and logistics infrastructure, proximity to major housing and education markets and a supportive environment for innovation and investment, the release adds.
The company already serves clients in northern Ontario and plans to pursue new opportunities across the province and expand into broader Canadian and North American markets.
