TORONTO – A video circulating across various social media channels appears to show two workers stuck on a suspended platform at a highrise building in Toronto as strong winds swing it back and forth uncontrollably during a severe storm yesterday.
The workers eventually climb their way to safety on a nearby balcony, with the help of several residents, timing their moves with the wind.
The video then shows the empty suspended platform being hurled between two buildings, slamming into balconies.
Strong storms cut across the Greater Toronto Area on Wednesday, causing widespread power outages, flooding and serious damage to several structures.
The intense weather system brought torrential rain, large hail and the risk of a tornado to wide swaths of southern Ontario.
