
The new state-of-the-art hospital will provide increased capacity in areas such as emergency, surgical, inpatient, ambulatory care, medical imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, and cancer care services, to support thousands of additional patients every year. The new hospital and cancer centre will feature 168 acuity-adaptable inpatient beds, a surgical/perioperative suite with ve operating rooms, four procedure rooms, and an emergency department with 55 treatment spaces. Since breaking ground in 2023, the project has steadily progressed through critical phases including geotechnical testing, shoring, and excavation, with construction having reached L evel 2 with concrete pillars and formwork. The north ramp is almost complete, and work has started on the south ramp.
