OTTAWA – Arcadis has announced it has been appointed as lead architect on Turn Group Ltd.’s mixed-use development at 299 Carling Ave. in Ottawa’s west end.

Situated in the city’s Little Italy, the project is slated to deliver approximately 750 residential units and more than 600,000 square feet of mixed-use space.

The land, formerly owned by Canada Lands Company, will be redeveloped to include four towers, ranging from 13 to 30 storeys, explains a release.

The project will rise across the street from Dow’s Lake, the Central Business District and the neighbourhood’s cultural and culinary amenities.

Arcadis will also provide civil, traffic and planning services.

“The towers’ design will reflect Ottawa’s distinctive harmony between natural landscapes and urban living, with a design inspired by the organic curves of Dow’s Lake,” reads the release.

The development will feature living facades, green roofs, natural materials, large windows, terraced balconies and pedestrian-friendly pathways.
