Rug vendors of all stripes are gearing up for this week’s High Point Market.
Capel Rugs is bringing bright, bold colors to center stage as the company rolls out a large assortment of new rug collections with colorful palettes and innovative styling, including three new Moroccan-inspired designs.
The latest Moroccan collections – Bazaar, Casablanca and Sahara – explore a different theme, drawing on the spirit of this culturally rich North African crossroads. Bold colors, intricate geometric patterns and rich textures play a prominent role in each design.

“Every rug in the Bazaar collection feels like a curated artwork – bold, layered and full of movement,” said Cameron Capel, president of sales and marketing. “Our strategy this market is to showcase lots of color and fun, hip designs, drawing on creative influences from Morocco and beyond.”
Still family owned and based in Troy, N.C., Capel Rugs has offered original braided rugs and woven rugs made in North Carolina for over 100 years. Capel Rugs’ High Point showroom is located at 200 N. Hamilton St., South Court.

When it comes to High Point, Kalaty is emphasizing its new high-end, hand-knotted collections.
“We are showcasing new designs in all constructions, including Waldorf, our newest Luxe-Weave collection,” said Kamran Kalaty, company spokesman. “Waldorf brings the number of Luxe-Weave collections to six with more collections on the drawing board.”
Kalaty is also debuting noteworthy new Lori-Loom handcrafted collections.
“We want High Point customers to discover that our oversized ‘Mansion Sizes’ group of oversized rugs – which are available in 13 x 18′, 14 x 20′, 15 x 22′ and 16 x 24′ sizes – has grown again to include even more fashion colors and trend-worthy designs in today’s most popular style genres,” Kalaty added.
All Luxe-Weave collections, including Waldorf, Zara, Nexus, Blooma, Ventura and Paintwrks, are made with premium wools.
What sets these Luxe-Weave rugs apart from most standard power-loomed rugs, according to Kalaty, is a proprietary process in which each rug undergoes a series of meticulous hand-finishing steps similar to those applied to the company’s high-end rugs.
“These important hand-finishing steps are key to the luxurious texture and qualities that make Kalaty’s Luxe-Weave rugs nearly indiscernible from many of their hand-knotted counterparts,” he said.
Additional new collections include:
Rove Collection
The trend-forward rugs in this modern collection are hand-knotted using 100% premium hand-spun wool yarns.

Infinity Collection
An eye-catching collection of contemporary abstract rug designs that are hand-knotted using 100% premium hand-spun wool.

Headquartered in Hicksville, N.Y., Mirza Kalaty established the company in 1979. Today, his five sons – Ramin, Mike, Farshad, Ariel and Kamran – run the company along with a new generation having entered the family business.
The Kalaty showroom is in High Point at IHFC, Green-369.

Founded on a family tradition that began in Turkey, Cappadocia Rugs remains closely connected to its production source. The company oversees each stage of creation, from the loom to its warehouse in Atlanta, maintaining a direct link between artisans and the finished product.
New updates from the line include the Antalya rug, a refined interpretation of Oushak design with a softer palette and low pile. The Artisan rug features celadon, terracotta, and washed indigo tones against an ivory background, while the Pure Luxe design offers a more sculptural surface, with raised and lower pile creating tonal contrast.

Each rug is hand-knotted using carefully sourced wool and natural dyes, which allow the colors to settle into the fibers with richness and variation that faster methods can’t match. Drawing on the Oushak weaving tradition while embracing transitional and modern designs, the collection balances heritage with contemporary style.
“Our goal is to create heirlooms that can be passed down through generations, just as the artistry has been carried on through our family,” said Ahmet Koker, CEO of Cappadocia Rugs. “High Point Market is an important opportunity for us to connect with the design community and build lasting relationships.”
The Cappadocia showroom is at the Suites at Market Square, M-8041. On Saturday, April 25, the company will host an open house with the owners from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., featuring Turkish delights and light refreshments.

Rugs America is introducing its new Rug-O-Pedic in High Point. It’s a new construction focused on enhanced comfort and support, featuring thick memory foam designed for everyday living.
“Consumers are looking beyond just design—they want comfort built into their home,” said CEO Ariel Hakimian. “Rug-O-Pedic delivers that next level of functionality, combining style with a construction that truly enhances everyday living.”
According to Hakimian, consumers continue to prioritize comfort within the home, and demand has grown for soft-surface flooring solutions that provide both style and physical support.

“Rug-O-Pedic addresses this shift by combining decorative design with a cushioned, ergonomic foundation that enhances underfoot comfort in high-use areas,” he added.
Constructed with a thick memory foam core, Rug-O-Pedic offers a noticeably softer, more supportive feel compared to traditional flatwoven or low-pile rugs. The added cushioning helps reduce foot fatigue, making it ideal for kitchens, living spaces and other areas where consumers spend extended periods standing.
In addition to comfort, Rug-O-Pedic incorporates non-slip backing and durable surface materials. The High Point showroom is in the IHFC Wrenn-346.
