DALLAS – This week, will begin laying the groundwork for its transformation into the new hybrid The Container Store + Bed Bath & Beyond format.

A chainwide “” event will kick off on Friday, April 24, as 98 stores liquidate roughly 30% of their categories and skus to make room for Bed Bath & Beyond‘s curated assortment.

“This is a reset with purpose,” said Jen Pape, senior vice president of stores at The Container Store. “We are actively reshaping our stores to make room for what’s next.”

The clearance event will take place across all locations and online at containerstore.com

The work begins less than a month after Bed Bath & Beyond signed an agreement to acquire The Container Store along with the Sweden-based Elfa and Chicago-based Closet Works businesses for $150 million.

The locations, which average 21,000 sq. ft., will offer a combination of merchandise across bed, bath, storage and organization, kitchen, and entertaining. In addition, the hybrid stores will significantly expand their existing offering. In addition to modular and , the format will introduce flooring, lighting, kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom cabinetry.

The 98 locations undergoing a reset range across 34 states. They include:

  • Arizona – Glendale and Phoenix (2 stores)
  • Arkansas – Little Rock
  • California – Corte Madera, Costa Mesa, El Segundo, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, San Mateo, Walnut Creek and Woodland Hills
  • Colorado – Bloomfield and Denver (2 stores)
  • Delaware – Newark
  • Florida – Boca Raton, Hallandale Beach, Miami (2 stores), Orlando, Palm Beach Gardens, Pembroke Pines, and Tampa
  • Georgia – Alpharetta and Atlanta (2 stores)
  • Iowa – West Des Moines
  • Illinois – Northbrook, Oak Brook and Schaumburg
  • Indiana – Indianapolis
  • Kansas – Overland Park
  • Maryland – Annapolis, Gaithersburg and Rockville
  • Massachusetts – Chestnut Hill, Natick and Peabody
