MONTREAL — PCL Construction recently joined its partner ADM Aéroports de Montréal for the groundbreaking of the satellite jetty project at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.
The project, located on federal lands, involves the construction of a temporary satellite jetty with four gates capable of handling eight aircraft, and a permanent satellite jetty with 12 gates capable of handling up to 24 aircraft, explains a release from the federal government.
Planning for the project was initiated last May and is part of ADM’s broader airport expansion program.
ADM Flight Plan 2028 – 2035 is a $10 billion, 10-year capital improvement plan to keep pace with increased demand and significantly update the airport.
Cityside enhancements include the reconfiguration of airport access roads, construction of new parking areas and pick-up and drop-off points and a new building to connect the future YUL-Montreal-Trudeau Airport REM station to the terminal.
Terminal and airside upgrades include systems allowing for an increase in baggage handling capacity, construction of the new satellite jetty with additional gates and passenger processing areas. Further improvements include new taxiways and tarmacs.
