The Charterholme site covers an area of approximately 240 hectares and proposes to deliver up to 3,200 homes as well as a local centre, primary school and wider commercial, employment and recreational land uses and green infrastructure.
New routes and connections will also be provided, with dedicated facilities for both cycling and walking to promote sustainable travel and provide resilience to Lincoln’s wider transport network, particularly through the delivery of a proposed ‘spine route’ through the site.
The project is being delivered by the main land owners City of Lincoln Council and Lindum Western Growth Community Ltd..
Graham’s appointment to design and construct this crucial next phase follows the contractor’s successful delivery of a new gateway and railway bridge infrastructure works on Tritton Road which was completed ahead of programme in December 2025.
Graham will now progress with detailed designs throughout 2026, with main construction works due to commence in 2027 subject to all planning and statutory consents being in place and final budget approvals.
The project will include the construction of a new link road connecting to the Phase 1a western access into the site from Skellingthorpe Road (delivered in 2024) and the eastern access from Tritton Road in the City Phase 1b delivered in December 2025, alongside associated street lighting, drainage, landscaping and new utility infrastructure, as well as the upfilling of adjacent plots to prepare the site for new housing for the residents of Lincoln.
