Progressive CEO will be inducted into the ‘s in September, recognizing his years of leadership and contributions to the .

“Troy represents everything the ALA Lighting Hall of Fame was created to celebrate,” said ALA President and CEO Jon Melchi. “His commitment to the lighting industry and to ALA has had a lasting impact.”

Lee’s induction represents literally a lifetime of service, leadership and contributions to the lighting industry. His work in lighting began when he was 12, assisting in his father’s business, , in Atlanta. There, he worked in the warehouse, helped set up the showroom, assembled fixtures and worked in customer service.

After earning a degree in economics from Mercer University, he formally joined Progressive Lighting in 1983. He held multiple roles across the company — including sales associate, showroom manager, store manager, and director of operations — before founding in 2000, where he served as president and director of operations. In 2019, he was named CEO of Progressive Lighting, and Savoy House.

Today, the companies operate 11 showroom locations across Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas, and Savoy House distributes from a 550,000-square-foot facility in Duluth, Ga., with international offices in China and Vietnam.

Lee also currently serves as chairman of the Lightovation board, chairman of the ALA finance committee and a member of the association’s board of governors. He also contributes to his local community through leadership roles with his church and the Johns Creek Symphony and Chorale Board, the ALA said.

Lee will be inducted into the Lighting Hall of Fame during the ALA’s annual conference which will be held this year on Sept. 9 in Louisville, Ky.
