LOUISVILLE, Ky. —A Women in Lighting event returns to the American Lighting Association‘s annual conference this year with a special session entitled, “Lighting the Way: Stories from Women Leading the Industry.”
The conference will take place Sept. 7–9 in Louisville, Ky., and the Women in Lighting event on Sept. 8 will feature a series of Pecha Kucha-style presentations from four accomplished female leaders who have helped shape the lighting industry:
Known for their rapid-fire, visual storytelling format, these presentations will highlight real, career-defining moments, lessons learned through challenges, and the bold decisions that shaped each speaker’s leadership journey.
Attendees will gain firsthand insights into what it takes to thrive in the lighting industry, with candid reflections that answer questions like, “What would you tell your younger self?” and “What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about leadership?”
Following the presentations, will be a creative, hands-on hat-making activity hosted by the Kentucky Derby Museum. Attendees can design their own custom fascinator or fedora. RSVPs are required to participate in the hat-making activity to ensure adequate supplies and can be submitted online here.
Registration for the 2025 ALA Conference is now open at ALAConference.com.
