NEW YORK – Mohawk Home is seeing its doormat segment experiencing notable growth, driven by customers’ growing demands for sustainable materials heightened expectations for quality and design.
And the company is feeding the need with expanded domestic manufacturing capabilities and innovative product offerings that balance sustainability, style and functionality.
That includes three new constructions, which are being highlighted at New York Home Fashions Market.
“The doormat market continues to see growth and is driven by consumer awareness of eco-friendly materials while prioritizing product quality and design,” Bart Hill, senior vice president at Mohawk Home, told HTT.
“The trends point towards a market defined by increased digital sales, product diversity, advanced functionalities with environmental priorities, he added.”
Here are the three new constructions launching during market week:
Rugged Entry Mats: A mainstay in commercial and utility applications, Rugged Entry has been one of Mohawk Home’s bestselling mats for the past decade. The construction has been innovated for domestic production using recycled tires and bottles, making the mat twice as heavy as previously imported versions while reducing costs by 10%.
Faux Coir / All-Weather Mats: For the past three years, Faux Coir has been Mohawk Home’s most popular construction, offering an all-weather solution made in the U.S. from recycled tires and bottles. The mats accommodate designs of up to eight colors and outperform imported coir by better scraping dirt and retaining moisture. Importantly, they do not shed or fade over time, making them a long-lasting, low-maintenance alternative.
Ever Weave Kitchen-Comfort Mats: Targeting the premium segment, the Ever Weave line delivers high-end, luxury looks in kitchen comfort mats. Constructed from woven vinyl fabrics that mimic sisal, rattan, and classic jacquard patterns, the mats feature half-inch-thick cushion backing with molded edging.
Across all three lines, Mohawk Home is emphasizing domestic production, environmentally conscious materials and durable constructions.
Mohawk Home’s Manhattan-based corporate showroom is located at 125 West 25 St. between 6th and 7th Avenues.
