TORONTO — A worker was seriously injured after an incident occurred yesterday at the highrise project in downtown Toronto.

According to media reports, the worker was injured around 1 p.m. but details about the nature of the incident are scarce, with speculation they may have fallen from a platform.

The worker is reported to have “life-altering” injuries.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development did confirm to the Daily Commercial News it was notified of the incident.

“As the investigation is ongoing, we cannot comment any further,” the MOL said.

The One Bloor West project is Canada’s first supertall building, a label reserved for buildings above 300 metres.

Once complete, it will stand at 308.6 metres or 85 storeys.

Tridel was retained as the development manager, construction manager and sales manager in May 2025.

More to come.
