HIGH POINT – Indian furniture company Loco Design, which prides itself on design, craftsmanship and innovative material use, is making its American debut at High Point Market this month.
It is unveiling two brands, Madheke and Taamaa, in its Interhall showroom.
“High Point is the perfect platform to introduce our Madheke and Taamaa-inspired visions to the world: furniture and accessories that honor heritage and modernization, while also celebrating color, artisanry and creativity,” CEO Parminder Pal Singh said in a release.

Madheke will present pieces uniquely tailored to the U.S. luxury market. Highlights include the refined yet cutting-edge Rouen Chair with its sleek brass-detailed back and leather seat, and the sculptural Renner Chair, showcased in orange leather. Accessories include watch boxes and games as well as barware and décor.

Taamaa, meanwhile, is all about color and personality, like the new Dottie Chair, which combines textural fabrics with soft corners and studded legs, or the Eyo table and complementary pouf which balances playful aesthetics with functional design. Accessories range from desk essentials like organizers and trays, to mirrors and occasional accents. It targets the mid- to mid-high segment of the market.
Backed by hundreds of artisans in four specialized factories outside Delhi, Loco Design works with a wide range of materials that range from straw and leather to stainless steel and carbon fiber.
Loco’s brands are being overseen in the United States by Laurie Burns and Valerie Berman, two home furnishings industry veterans with experience in product development, sourcing and marketing.
“We are bringing things Americans don’t have and do not know that they want,” said Burns. “It’s a big move and we are ready for it.”
Products are currently housed in India and take four to six weeks to ship. It is planning to work with a 3PL in either Pennsylvania or Texas. Both brands are looking for multi-line rep showroom partners.
“The excitement we’re bringing is something special,” said Berman. “Furniture has been a little sluggish. It’s a very big industry. We’re focused on the luxe part of industry, looking to bring excitement.”
