OTTAWA — Ottawa Community Housing has awarded Hobin Architecture the contract to design phase two of its affordable housing development Gladstone Village.
The second phase of the project will add up to 975 new affordable homes across three buildings on a 2.41-acre portion of the site, which is located beside the Corso Italia LRT station.
“Designing phase two of Gladstone Village is an extraordinary opportunity to shape one of Ottawa’s most impactful affordable housing developments. We are excited to bring thoughtful, innovative design to a vibrant, inclusive community that will transform downtown living and create a lasting positive impact for residents and the city,” said Barry Hobin, principal of Hobin Architecture, in a statement.
Gladstone Village is an eight-acre development in downtown Ottawa that is planned to deliver upwards of 1,300 new affordable homes across multiple phases.
It is bordered by Somerset Street to the north, the O-Train Trillium Line to the east, Preston Street to the west, and Oak Street to the south.
