OAKLAND, Calif. — Since its founding in 2017, has established a distinctive market position centered on vintage, handmade and washable rugs sourced directly from artisan partners in Turkey, India and Morocco.

The company’s model, designed to reduce traditional layers between maker and consumer, emphasizes accessibility, pricing clarity and a digitally driven shopping experience.

“AI helps us move faster across content, merchandising and customer experience,” he explained. “It’s less about automation and more about improving how quickly we communicate, present products and respond to customer needs.”

Revival Rugs applies AI primarily in areas tied to , including written content development, product storytelling and customer-facing communication. The technology also supports visual workflows, allowing teams to explore creative concepts and merchandising presentation with greater speed and flexibility.

“Speed matters in our environment,” Hyman noted. “AI allows us to , and iterate without the same time and cost constraints.”

Despite those gains, Hyman underscored that AI does not replace the human-led aspects central to Revival Rugs’ assortment and brand identity.

“Vintage and handmade rugs still require careful selection, condition evaluation and storytelling,” he said. “Those decisions remain firmly with our team.”

Operationally, AI tools assist with organizing and interpreting data, helping teams identify patterns and streamline workflows.

“AI is a support tool,” Hyman added. “It helps streamline workflows and sharpen insights, but human judgment continues to guide final decisions.”
