
TORONTO — Amrize has announced it has launched a new “Product of Canada” cement label, which is designed specifically to support Canadian builders, the company states.
It “guarantees that the cement is manufactured in Canada in accordance with applicable legislative and performance standards,” a release reads. “It provides builders and infrastructure partners with clear assurance of Canadian-made quality, local jobs and reliable domestic supply.”
The rollout for the new label begins at the company’s flagship plant in Exshaw, Alta. and at the Bath, Ont. operation. Additional facilities will follow.
The “Product of Canada” label is meant to signify the importance of domestic cement manufacturing for infrastructure and housing delivery as well as reiterate the the economic impact of Canada’s cement industry.
For over a century, Amrize (formerly Lafarge Canada) has helped build many of Canada’s most recognized projects, including the Rogers Centre in Toronto, the Confederation Bridge, the Champlain Bridg as well as major aviation hubs such as Vancouver International Airport and Calgary International Airport, the release adds.
