Furniture Classics has hired industry veteran  for the role of vice president of product and merchandising, joining the team in High Point for the April market. She will report to Michael Ricks, president.

Mallette will be responsible for new product development as well as product management. She will handle the design and development of new products or categories, and any refresh needed for current product assortments. In addition, she will play a key role in the design and set up of market showrooms in High Point, Las Vegas and Atlanta.

Doug Jermyn, former vice president of operations at Samson Holding, is joining the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame as chief operating officer on April 6.

As COO, a new position at the Hall of Fame, Jermyn will be responsible for all day-to-day administration and operations, including management of the building, human resources and financial reporting. He will report directly to Karen McNeill, CEO of the Hall of Fame. The Foundation, Inc., is an industry-wide organization founded to preserve its history, to celebrate exceptional individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the U.S. home furnishings industry, to inspire the next generation of innovative leaders and to engage the community with the world of home furnishings.

Mark Cowan

Hooker Furnishings has appointed industry veteran Mark Cowan as vice president of sales for Hooker Branded.

In this role, Cowan will focus on developing and implementing sales strategies, discovering growth opportunities and aligning sales initiatives with the overall brand direction. He will report to Adam Tilley, president of Hooker Branded.

Bassett Furniture is expanding its presence in hospitality and commercial channels, appointing industry veteran David Sullivan as vice president to lead the division.

Sullivan will focus on growing Bassett’s business across hospitality, senior living, country clubs and multi-family housing, building on what the company describes as its strengths in domestic manufacturing and customization.

According to Sullivan, Bassett’s ability to produce case goods, seating and outdoor furniture domestically positions the company to move quickly in a market where lead times remain a key concern.
