MONCTON, N.B. — Lindsay Construction, in partnership with Comztar Commercial Properties, has broken ground on a new, high-performance industrial facility at 80 Frenette Ave. in Moncton’s Caledonia Industrial Park.

The 67,000-square-foot energy-efficient industrial facility will be situated on 12 acres. The fully sprinklered building can accommodate a single tenant or be subdivided to meet a variety of industrial, warehousing and distribution needs. It will feature 31-foot exterior walls, a 26-foot interior height and rear loading docks equipped with electric dock levelers to support modern logistics operations, a release notes.

The building is planned to exceed the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2020 by 29 per cent, surpassing Tier 2 requirements.

“By exceeding national energy standards, this facility will help reduce operating costs for tenants while contributing to more sustainable industrial development in Greater Moncton,” said Cathy Sweet, CEO of Comztar Properties, in a statement.

The site joins a cluster of major distribution centers, including Walmart, Loblaws and Irving.

Target completion is early 2027.
