NEW YORK — F. Schumacher & Co., aka just Schumacher to many people, is going all in on designs to commemorate the United States 250th anniversary.

According to company officials, the luxury interior design, fabric and wallcovering company has introduced Stars and Stripes, the first of three special collections to honor America’s 250th celebration. The collection of fabrics, trims and wallpapers features abstract designs and geometric motifs inspired by a variety sources, including iconic flag paintings by Jasper Johns and traditional quilt patterns.
Officials noted that the “colorful and dynamic” collection is designed to celebrate the country’s artistic heritage with a spirited, modern twist” and a red, white and blue color palette, a collection that celebrates craftsmanship and artistry, with designs based on hand-painted artwork created in the studio as well as hand-printed fabrics.

Independence Plaid is a 100% cotton medium-scale multipurpose fabric designed to feel homespun. Officials describe Independence Plaid as “both spirited and classic, featuring a woven check with star motifs throughout.”
Square in a Square is a thick 100% cotton double-cloth weave inspired by traditional quilts. Featuring rhythmic concentric squares, this medium-scale geometric fabric has a graphic, modern presence.

Starfield Appliqué is a folksy, graphic pattern inspired by Jasper Johns’s iconic flag paintings, officials said. Made of heavy cotton canvas, this spirited medium-scale fabric features irregular appliquéd stars that add distinctive dimension to upholstery, pillows, and more.
Zilla Stripe is named after Betsy Ross’s daughter, a rhythmic woven pattern inspired by traditional quilts. Crafted from heavy-duty cotton, this medium-scale design features small square accents set against a diagonal stripe, producing a graphic, dynamic effect.
Hatchmark is inspired by Jasper Johns’s “Cicada” lithograph series and showcases a gestural design that radiates energy, color, and movement. Featuring rhythmic, multi-directional lines hand-printed on 100% linen, this modern medium-scale pattern adds dimension to any room.
Parson’s Stripe Hand-Print is based on original artwork created in the Schumacher studio. Made of rugged hemp canvas and printed in the U.S., this painterly patchwork stripe is a striking large-scale design that can be cut into pieces and used in numerous ways.
Painted Circles Created is an artisanal fabric featuring a gestural geometric pattern. Painted by hand on 100% linen, each circle in this modern large-scale design is slightly different, with subtle variations that contribute to its unique character.
Astra Block-Print Tape is a spirited trim that features rows of stars block-printed by hand on 100% linen, a distinctive personality and a playful touch to pillows, window treatments, and more.
Quilted Diamond Tape features a graphic geometric pattern inspired by traditional folk motifs. It is crafted from quilted cotton and linen with appliquéd and embroidered trim.
Springs Stripes offers an artful take on a classic motif. Based on hand-painted artwork and printed in the U.S., this wallpaper features slightly irregular stripes and a gestural brushstroke effect.
Recolors Painterly Windowpane (fabric) is drawn on a grand scale. Created by decorator Miles Redd, this ode to classic American design is printed on a heavyweight cotton and linen duck fabric.
Emma Stripe (wallcovering) is the ultimate go-anywhere staple, with richly printed colors and crisp, clean lines. Available in two versatile widths and a spectrum of hues ranging from neutral to bold.
