TORONTO — Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of Tourism, Gaming and Culture (MTCG) have awarded a contract to EllisDon Civil Ltd. for construction management services for the public realm aspects of the massive Ontario Place Redevelopment.

The scope of work includes:

  • Upgrading the public spaces and creating new and expanded waterfront access. 
  • Restoring and enhancing the water’s edge and securing continuous public access throughout the site.
  • Completing landscaping and site development work, including adding new structural amenities, attractions and features.

IO and MTCG selected EllisDon Civil Ltd. following a procurement process that began in June 2025. 

EllisDon will commence construction work in the coming weeks, with completion targeted for summer 2030.

IO and the MTCG state the final project cost is still being confirmed once prices are finalized for various subcontracts and major supplies.

In June, a $198 million contract was awarded to Pomerleau for the parking structure aspect of the redevelopment.
